Removing those annoying black spots from your pores is not an easy task. An excellent way to remove them safely is to use a pore strip. Making your own strips at home is easy and much cheaper than buying the prefabricated ones. Making your own pore strips takes less than 5 minutes and the results are amazing.
Homemade pore strips
1 tablespoon of gelatin
1 tablespoon of milk
1 sheet of toilet paper
2 – 3 drops of tea tree oil
Flat makeup brush
Microwave-proof small bowl
Notes on ingredients
I tried this recipe using agar powder and almond milk. I could not get the same viscosity as with gelatin and milk. For those who wonder if they could use water instead of milk, yes, they can! However, the lactic acid in milk is incredible for the skin. It helps to gently exfoliate the skin while the gelatin removes the remnants of the pores.
How to make your pore strips
Add 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin to 1 tablespoon of milk.
Mix until the gelatin and milk combine.
Heat the mixture in a microwave at high temperature for 7 – 10 seconds. You will see that the mixture bubbles a little. The mixture should be thick and resemble the glue.
Add 2 – 3 drops of tea tree oil to the mixture and stir. Tea tree oil is excellent for treating imperfections.
Peel off a layer of the toilet paper sheet (if it is 2 layers). Cut the sheet in half. Wash your face with warm water and mild soap. Dry with a towel. With the flat makeup brush, apply a generous layer of the gelatin mixture on the nose (or chin).
Place the half sheet of toilet paper in a single layer on your nose (or chin) and press firmly.
Apply another layer of the gelatin mixture on top of the paper. Let it dry until it is hardened. Once dry, take off the paper. Use a warm towel to loosen any piece of gelatin paper left on your skin.
